Upcoming Events:

  • The Summer and September School Program forms has been put them in your child's mailbox, please fill out and return back to the front desk.
  • The week of May 21st will be face to face parent-teacher conferences.  Please see the sign up sheet at the entrance of each classroom. 
  • Your child's annual registration fee (2012-2013 school year) is due on July 15th.  For parents that would prefer to participate in the payment plan, your first installation of $20 is due by Friday, May 4th.  The next nine payments will be due weekly until Friday, July 13th.
  • Reminder:  Friday, May 25th and Monday, May 28th we are closed for Memorial Weekend.

 

Staff Announcements at the New Windsor School:  Due to increasing enrollment, we have been trialing and hiring new staff.  As a result, we would like to inform you of several staff changes that have recently taken place.

  • Miss Brittany is a new employee that is being trained to work in both the three’s and Pre-K as part of the afternoon closing staff.  She has her Child Development Credential through BOCES.
  • Miss Shereene, who has been training for several weeks, will be a floater in all programs.  She is currently enrolling in the Child Care Education Institute.
  • All new staff will be going through a six month trial period, where they will be receiving on going evaluations, and mentoring with seasoned staff.  If you have any questions or feedback that you feel who aid in their growth here at Little Harvard please feel free to contact Miss Antonia.

At our private preschool, we pride ourselves on a curriculum that is of the highest quality and completely compliant with the New York State Learning Standards.

Everyday in our classrooms, your child will participate in science, math, literacy, music/movement, art and outdoor play.  We believe in immersing your child in the weekly theme by providing them the means to explore and question with all of their senses.

     
   

Experienced Staff
We have an experienced and well-trained staff with a low turnover rate, allowing your children to develop long-term and meaningful relationships.  Their commitment to the field of education is evident in their classroom management skills, curriculum development, creative room environments and enthusiasm for teaching.  All teachers and teacher assistants have either a degree in Education or are currently working on an educational degree or Child Development Associate Certification (CDA).  In addition, all staff are CPR and First Aid trained, and many, additonally have their MAT (Medication Administration Training) certification.

 

Founder
Our founder, Rhoda Cianco-Uszenski, is committed to the best educational methodologies for children of all ages.  She began her career working with middle and high school children.  She continued as a college professor, teaching Early Childhood Education to future teachers.

In May of 1998, she opened Little Harvard in New Windsor, NY.  This brought her base knowledge and experience to the development of young children.

Due to an increase in demand, we happily opened up our second location in Washingtonville in 2001.
